To open our 2017-2018 concert season, the Ottawa Classical Choir (OCC) will perform Antonio Vivaldi’s Gloria which is probably his best known sacred work.
The wonderfully sunny nature of the Gloria, with its distinctive melodies and rhythms, is characteristic of all of Vivaldi’s music, giving it an immediate and universal appeal.
Along with this very popular classical work, the OCC will also perform Schubert’s Mass No. 4 in C major. This Mass possesses an overwhelming energy, exuberance and almost uncontainable excitement.
The concert will feature 150 choristers, guest soloists, along with the SPNM orchestra under the direction of Michel Brousseau giving these works a fresh interpretation for a memorable evening of great classical music.
