Choir members

“This is my second season with the Ottawa Classical Choir. Although I’ve studied music and sung and played various instruments for the past fifty years, I’ve learned an incredible amount from our director, Michel. I would also have to say that our performance of Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle was one of the greatest musical experiences for me, ever! I had never dreamed that I could be part of such an accomplished and beautiful musical performance. My eyes teared over when I saw my father’s expression of wonderment as he heard our performance for the first time. (He had sung the very same Mass as a boy.) Thank you, Eunice (our president) for inviting me to audition, and thank you, Michel, for your tireless efforts to achieve perfection.”
“Singing in a choir is an important part of my life and singing with the Ottawa Classical Choir has become a passion for me. I have learnt so much from maestro Michel Brousseau. Singing with the OCC is all about experiencing music in beautiful venues with like-minded people. I have shed tears during concerts because I couldn’t believe I was part of something so beautiful.”
“The first time I heard the Ottawa Classical Choir I never imagined I would be able to sing with them. Scared but daring, I went for an audition and was accepted. I have been singing with the OCC for 5 years and have sang pieces that I never thought I could sing. The passion, skills and dedication of our conductor Michel Brousseau brought the choir to another level. I have sung in some of the most amazing venues here and overseas. Imagine all this plus making many wonderful friendships.”
“When I became one of the founding members of the Ottawa Classical Choir in 2006, I never imagined how much I was going to enjoy singing in a choir. Each season brings a new masterpiece to learn, culminating in a vocal expression of a work of art. Over the years, there were moments where the choir was so in tune with our conductor that the outcome moved me to tears as I was singing.”
