The Ottawa Classical Choir / New World Philharmonic Society present Rossini’s Petite messe solennelle on May 18, 2019. Under the direction of Michel Brousseau, the work was performed by 150 choristers, accompanied by two pianos and harmonium.
Rossini, in applying the final touches to his masterpiece that he affectionately and humorously termed his “last sin of old age”, was unsure whether to consider it “sacred or sacrilegious.”
